Bailey Island Shark Attack

Islanders say they never expected such a thing to happen in the sea off Harpswell. On-site paramedics said Monday that a woman was attacked 60 meters from the coast.

The owners of the Fitters rented timing kayaks to a 63-year-old couple led by Juli Holovec on the coast.

Victim of a deadly shark attack from Maine has been identified as a woman from York
“They were instinct because they jumped into the kayak when they heard the screams of help,” said Katie Pift, co-owner of H2FitFitters.

"I think the people who went to the rescue there were really brave," said Eff Cooper, co-owner of H2FitFitters.

They say one has his head above water and the other is piercing.

"Instead of letting them sit there, they pulled their bodies out of the water," Cooper said. "She was beautiful and hardworking."

They say Hollowwatch does nothing normal.
